While it is tempting to assign blame for the messy, unhappy parts of your life on misfortune and the actions of others, you must look inward to discover how you ended up here, otherwise you will keep treading the same unhealthy paths. Breaking free is difficult work, but your horse can help you on your journey of self-discovery and self-improvement.
Horses can teach us so much about ourselves, both who we are and how we communicate and connect with others. When we pay attention to how they respond to us, it is possible to discover ways to transform ourselves, our relationships, and our lives for the better.
What horses can teach us about ourselves.
Unlike other domesticated animals, horses are essentially wild animals who have allowed us into their lives. Whenever you are with a horse, you cannot help but bring our authentic self to the interaction, and the horse, neither bred nor raised to be anything other than its authentic self, reacts naturally to the person you are.
Having spent the better part of my life working with horses, I have experienced first-hand what these magnificent creatures can teach us about ourselves, and I have honed my natural instincts for reading their language—the swish of tail, the tightening of mouth. These microexpressions, together with your own, reflect valuable information about your personal presence and relational self.
If you own a horse that is being difficult or acting out, they are communicating to you that your approach isn’t meeting their individual needs. After just one guided session, you can begin to make subtle tweaks to the ways you interact with the world, improving every relationship in your life, including your rapport with your horse, for a healthier, more balanced life.
“Katelyn is an incredible teacher. She has amazing intuition when it comes to both people and horses which makes working with her a truly magical experience. I have worked with many horse trainers over my fifteen years of experience, and I feel confident in saying Katelyn is the best at what she does. I wish everyone who works with horses could have a chance to work with her.”
Why am I offering a complimentary session?
Equine-assisted learning and healing is a relatively new field, and while science is just beginning to catch up to its many benefits, I have long known its worth. I understand why many horse owners would be hesitant to commit to something that is new and unfamiliar, and I don’t want them to miss out on the opportunity. Thus, I am offering this first coaching session for free.
